I am a little behind on posts this week so I thought I would combine an awesome workout with Food Log Friday.

I’ll be honest with you. I am a little behind because I had way too much fun at a local food and wine festival last Sunday. There were hundreds, freakin’ hundreds, of wines and champagnes to taste as well as beer and bourbon. I really went for it and probably tried 99 wines/champagnes and some bourbon for good measure. It was an epic Sunday Funday followed by an epic three day hangover.

Sweat Sesh: Full-Body Work-It Circuit

Ready to sweat?

Start with the warm up. Then, complete 3 rounds of circuit A, rest 2-5 minutes, complete 3 rounds of circuit B, rest 2-5 minutes, then end the workout with 1 round of the finisher. Within each circuit move from one exercise to the next with minimal rest. Within each circuit the reps decrease with each round. See the reps column for each circuit. For each exercise choose a weight that is challenging but allows you to keep moving at a quick pace.

I know there’s a wide range of feelings about Valentine’s Day. Some people are all hearts and kisses and candy and flowers and others can’t stand the consumerism of it. But hey, it’s a day that serves as a reminder to really celebrate the people we love. Be a hater if you want but its a lot more fun to spend time with your favorite person or people while maybe sipping a little champagne or nibbling on chocolates.

Whaddya think of the Super Bowl?

I couldn’t believe the Patriots came back to win and in overtime. How in 50 years of Super Bowls has there never been an overtime? Seems crazy! Lady Gaga rocked it! The drones behind her in the opening of her performance were pretty awesome too!

Happy 2017!!

How’s it going so far? No matter what’s happened in the last 3 days, you know you are having a better year than Mariah Carey and Ronda Rousey. Yikes!

Did you make resolutions this year?

I listened to a few interesting podcasts about different variations of resolutions. There’s traditional resolutions like eat more vegetables, work out 3 times a week, meditate daily etc. Then, there are resolutions that are more about choosing a word or phrase that will be the theme for your year. This type of resolution is really about changing your mindset, which will influence how you approach everything you do this year. I think both types of resolutions are valuable.

Lower Body “Winter” Workout

It’s officially winter which means the weather is finally cooler in Gainesville. Florida “winter” is high 70s high 40s (no snow shoveling for us!) so I’m loving working out in the garage. This lower body circuit requires dumbbells, a jump rope and a bench, chair or cooler to rest your foot on for Bulgarian split squats.
