I’m Lauren Fischer, a nurse and Nutrition Therapy Consultant living in Lakewood Each, FL. I have been married for 10 years and have one super energetic and crazy staffordshire terrier, Tyson.
My passion for health and wellness developed from personal and professional experiences. Professionally, I am a nurse. Throughout my nursing career I witnessed the consequences of poor diet and lifestyle choices in patients of all ages with obesity, diabetes, metabolic syndrome, high cholesterol, etc. The truth is that these conditions are most often a result of MODIFIABLE risk factors and could be prevented through healthy lifestyle changes.
Personally, I have always been interested in health and wellness because of my involvement with athletics. I grew up loving ballet and gymnastics, was on the dance team and swim team in high school, and ran a ½ marathon and competed in several NPC bikini competitions as an adult. Today, my goal is to maintain optimal health so I can still be kickin’ ass when I’m 90! Read more about my fitness philosophy here.
