Three Things I’m Into & Food Log Friday


Hey guys!! How are you?

It’s good to be back on the blog! My husband and I snuck off for an amazing vacation while I was away. I’ll tell you lots more about in a travel post next week.

Let’s start with 3 things I’m into that I think you will be too.

ONE: Tone It Up Bikini Series 2017

I love writing my own workouts and going to Bodyflow but I’m always up for trying something new. My sister introduced me to Tone It Up right before their Bikini Series 2017 kicked off. When I looked at the website I recognized the trainers/bosses Karena and Katrina from their brief stint on the Bravo reality show Toned Up. Probably a sign I watch too much Bravo…

The Bikini Series is an 8-week program that includes a new and different workout each day. Most of the series is free but there are 8 workouts used throughout the series that come in a bundle for $34. This is the first week of the series and so far there have been bodyweight workouts, resistance workouts with weights, HIIT and yoga. The workouts are way more challenging than I expected and fun! After one week my entire body is sore.

In addition to the Bikini Series 2017, they offer lots of free workouts under the fitness tab on their site. Check them out for some fun, new workouts!

TWO: Kevita Sparkling Probiotic Drinks

img_2953The Kevita Sparkling Probiotic Drinks are a water kefir drink as opposed to a kombucha drink. They contain probiotics and provide all the digestive and health benefits without the distinct kombuch flavor. I really like the coconut, strawberry acai coconut and the mojita lime mint coconut. THREE: In the Shadow of Lakecrest by Elizabeth Blackwell



I read this book while on vacation and could barely put it down. It’s an easy read and a great story with lots of twists and turns and suspense.



Food Log Friday

I started off the morning with a green drink. It’s water with 1 scoop of Amazing Grass Green Superfood Detox & Digest but it looks like swamp sludge. Tastes better than swamp sludge though.


Then I made two over easy eggs in a little grass-fed butter. I ate the eggs with asparagus, cherry tomatoes and some cilantro & oregano pesto. I also had a little coffee with 1/2 and 1/2 and coconut sugar. While I sipped on my coffee I looked at the Publix add to see if there was anything on sale that would be good for next weeks meal plan and prep.

After my Tone It Up Bikini Series Day 4 workout I made a quick and delicious protein shake with ice, water, 1/2 a frozen banana, a handful of frozen figs and 1 scoop of chocolate whey protein. I like this kind. The figs are really good straight out of the freezer. They remind me of eating fig newtons as a kid.


For lunch I was really craving a sandwich. I ended up making a chicken sandwich with gluten-free bread, avocado-oil mayo, mustard, a slice of provolone cheese, a baked chicken breast, lettuce and pickles. A sandwich is not complete without pickles.


In the late afternoon I made some strawberry lemonade. I combined the juice of 1 lemon, water, 1/2 a dropper of stevia, a sprinkle of sea salt and 2 sliced strawberries and poured the mixture over crushed ice. I also made some deviled eggs and snacked on two.

Dinner was a kitchen sink bowl of what was left in the fridge. Sautéed cabbage, asparagus, broccoli, peas, roasted sweet potatoes and tomatoes all mixed up with some of the cilantro & oregano pesto. I also had two more deviled eggs.
